Huawei has been developing very fast in recent years. Although it is a large technology company in China, it has a high reputation all over the world. Many of its products and technologies have been widely used. Huawei ranks the fourth in the world in terms of patent applications and the top five in R&D investment in the world!

According to the EU Industrial R&D Investment Scoreboard 2022 released by the European Commission, Huawei's R&D investment ranks among the top five in the world. The list shows that Huawei's investment and holding company ranked fourth with 19 billion euros (about 140.98 billion yuan) in R&D investment, while Huawei ranked 43rd in 2012, making considerable progress.

On the list, Alphabet ranked No. 1 in R&D investment, the parent company META of FaceBook and Instagram ranked No. 2, Microsoft ranked No. 3, Apple ranked No. 5, followed by Samsung, Volkswagen, Intel, etc.

The past information shows that Huawei's R&D expenditure in 2021 will be 42.7 billion yuan, accounting for 22.4% of its annual revenue. The accumulated R&D expenditure in the past decade will exceed 845 billion yuan. The top 2500 companies include 361 companies located in the EU, accounting for 17.6% of the total R&D investment, 822 American companies (40.2%), 678 Chinese companies (17.9%), 233 Japanese companies (10.4%) and 406 companies from other regions of the world (RoW, accounting for 13.9% of R&D).

One of the direct highlights behind Huawei's continued investment in R&D is supporting domestic components. Previously, Nihon Keizai Shimbun, with the assistance of Fomalhaut Techno Solutions, which is engaged in the disassembly and investigation of smart phones and auto parts, disassembled Huawei's 5G mini NodeB.

After disassembly, it was found that China made components accounted for 55% of the cost, which was 7% higher than that of the original large base station. Parts in the United States account for 27% of large base stations, and only 1% of small base stations dismantled this time. It can be seen that Huawei has further accelerated the pace of converting to domestic parts.

The semiconductors on Huawei BTSs have been using products from Analog Devices and Anson Semiconductor of the United States. However, during this disassembly, it was found that the analog semiconductors used to control power supply and process signals such as radio waves were printed with Huawei's LOGO. Therefore, it is judged that Huawei's own designed products are used, but the manufacturer is unknown.

Huawei's development today is mainly due to its strong investment and emphasis on production and R&D from the beginning to the end, so as to attract more consumers. I hope Huawei can have better development in the future!
