As a mobile phone manufacturer that can compete with Apple, Samsung has made achievements in many aspects. Recently, Samsung released the new Exynos 1380/1330 processor, which adopts 5nm process and supports 5G network. Although it is far away from Qualcomm and MediaTek processors, it also has excellent performance. It is expected that these two chips will be carried in Samsung Galaxy A series mobile phones.

Recently, Samsung launched two processors, Exynos 1380 and Exynos 1330, both supporting 5G. Among them, Exynos 1380 adopts 5nm process, has four ARM Cortex-A78 CPU cores with a frequency of 2.4GHz, and four ARM Cortex-A55 CPU cores with a frequency of 2GHz. In addition, it is equipped with Mali-G68 MP5 GPU with a frequency of 950MHz, FHD+display with a 144Hz refresh rate, LPDDR4x and LPDDR5 DRAM chips and UFS 3.1 storage.

In terms of image, the Triple ISP integrated with Exynos 1380 can support 200 megapixel camera sensor, the built-in NPU has a computing power of 4.9 TOPS, slightly higher than Exynos 1280, and it also supports 4K 30fps video recording with EIS, HDR and real-time object recognition.

In terms of communication, the 5G modem built into Exynos 1380 supports millimeter wave and sub-6GHz 5G networks, with a peak download speed of 3.67Gbps and an upload speed of 1.28Gbps. It supports Beidou, Galileo, GLONASS, GPS, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC and USB Type-C interfaces.

The other Exynos 1330 has two Cortex-A78 CPU cores with a main frequency of 2.4GHz, six Cortex-A55 CPU cores with a main frequency of 2GHz, Mali-G68 MP2 GPU, FHD+resolution display with a 120Hz refresh rate, LPDDR4x and LPDDR5 DRAM chips, and UFS 2.2/UFS 3.1 storage and capacity.

In terms of video, the ISP inside Exynos 1330 supports up to 100 million pixels of cameras, and also supports 16 million pixels+16 million pixels of dual camera settings. MFC (Multi-Format Codec) can record and play 4K 30fps video encoded and decoded by HEVC, H.264 and VP8.

In addition, Exynos 1330 has a built-in 5G modem, supports the sub-6GHz 5G network, and has a peak download speed of 2.55Gbps and an upload speed of 1.28Gbps. It is understood that the new processor should be exclusive to Samsung Galaxy A series. Exynos 1380 will be applied to the new Galaxy A54 5G machine, and Exynos 1330 will be applied to the new Galaxy A14 5G machine.

Although Samsung's manufacturing level of processors is relatively general, and there are almost no high-end chips, it can still be used as a series A processor. At present, many mobile phone manufacturers in China have begun to develop their own chips, hoping to get rid of the shackles of foreign chip manufacturers.
