There was light leakage when BOE produced OLED screen for Apple iPhone 15

On February 28, according to the report of The Elec, the Korean media, it is expected that China's BOE will not be able to provide; iPhone 15  Series produced the first batch of OLED screens on a large scale, because this year's  iPhone  The 15 series will be equipped with Lingdong Island, while BOE has encountered difficulties in processing the display screen with holes. So far, only Samsung Display and LG Display are expected to participate in the mass production of iPhone 15 series OLEDs, which is expected to be completed by June.

It is reported that the OLED panel produced by BOE for the iPhone 15 series has light leakage. It is said that this problem is only limited to the low-end 6.1-inch iPhone 15 model manufactured by BOE

Apple asked its iPhone 15 OLED supplier to use something called edge light barrier (ELB), which is a device to prevent light leakage around the camera lens, as well as other advanced technology. However, BOE was unable to successfully apply this solution. It was reported that BOE "does not seem to meet the strict standards required by Apple".

Due to the problem of light leakage, the report said that BOE would have difficulty in participating in the mass production of the first batch of OLED panels of the iPhone 15 series scheduled for around June. The report predicts that the OLED panel produced by BOE will initially be used for the repair and renovation of mobile phones, rather than for new products. Whether LG or Samsung will take the OLED orders missed by BOE may be determined by the capacity of the latter.

BOE has not responded to this.

According to the latest news, there was a light leak problem when BOE produced OLED screens for Apple's iPhone 15, but BOE has not responded yet. However, the development of domestic screens may not be easy. You can feel the taste of a long way to go, but you still hope that domestic screens can be refueled and break a new ground.
