In just two months, iOS 17 will officially meet with everyone at the 2023 Apple WWDC Developer Conference. Of course, users are expected to wait until September to experience it. With the continuous updates of the iOS system, the demand for mobile phone configurations has also become increasingly high. At present, relevant personnel have revealed the upgrade list for iOS 17, among which iPhone X and below models will be abandoned.

Recently, it was reported that Apple will release iOS/iPad OS 17 at the WWDC conference in June. IOS/iPad OS 17 will bring a series of upgrades and improvements to devices such as iPhone, iPad, and Mac, including better performance, faster application startup speed, smoother system experience, and more. Unfortunately, this new system will eliminate support for iPhone 8, 8 Plus, iPhone X, first generation 9.7-inch/12.9-inch iPad Pro, and fifth generation iPad and older devices. This news has disappointed many fruit fans, as they believe that Apple's support for old models far exceeds that of Android manufacturers.

It is understood that iOS/iPad OS 17 will also introduce some new functions and features, such as support for screen display, updates to Siri voice assistant, and so on. And the system also requires hardware support. The key to the abandoned devices is that Apple's new system may not be compatible with most devices equipped with A11 chips or older chips. This means that these devices may not be able to enjoy the benefits of the latest iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 systems, including better performance and better user experience. This was also reflected when iOS16 was released last year.

Last year, iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 gave up support for iPhone 6S, 6S Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone SE first and final versions of iPod touch, second generation iPad Air, and fourth generation iPad mini. Let their systems stay forever in the era of iOS15 and iPad OS15.

These abandoned models were all released before November 2017 and have been around for over five years now. However, there are still many users of these models, but most users will not upgrade to the latest version, after all, the phone's configuration needs are no longer supported.
