Kirin 8000 is Huawei’s latest Kirin mid-range chip. It can be regarded as a low-end version of Kirin 9000S after downclocking. The overall performance is relatively average. The AnTuTu score is only over 500,000 points, which is basically only half of the Kirin 9000S.So which one is better, Kirin 8000 or Kirin 985?Let’s take a look with the editor below.

Which one is better, Kirin 8000 or Kirin 985?

Which one is better, Kirin 8000 or Kirin 985?What is the difference between Kirin 8000 and Kirin 985?

Kirin 8000 is better. The AnTuTu score of Kirin 8000 is over 500,000 points, while the Kirin 985’s score is only over 300,000 points

Kirin 8000 uses an eight-core configuration of one A77 core at 2.4GHz + three A77 cores at 2.19GHz + four A55 cores at 1.84GHz. This configuration is not particularly outstanding in today’s market. In comparison, Snapdragon 778G also uses a similar architecture.

Kirin 985 adopts a "1+3+4" three-cluster architecture. The large and medium cores of Kirin 985 are still based on the ARM Cortex-A76. Huawei calls it Based, which is based on the native Cortex-A76 of Qualcomm Snapdragon.Kryo, which was "magically modified" from the A architecture, has the same purpose. However, the Kirin 985's main frequency setting is between the Kirin 990 and the Kirin 820, so its CPU performance is better than the Kirin 820 but inferior to the Kirin 990 series.

Although the Kirin 8000 does not have any advantages in terms of manufacturing process, it is derived from the Kirin 9000s after all, so the overall performance is pretty good. The Kirin 985 itself is positioned as a mid-to-low-end chip, and the AnTuTu score is less than 400,000 points, so the Kirin 8000 is much better than the Kirin 985.
