This update adds a total of 118 new Emojis, including 6 new Emojis and 4 gender-neutral family Emojis.There are also six new direction-differentiated versions of existing character emojis, for a total of 108 new emojis including gender and skin tone changes.
All-new CarPlay
For drivers of certain cars, CarPlay now includes a new option to display information about upcoming actions through a "new instrument cluster experience."
Apple explains: "In iOS 17.4, for vehicles that support CarPlay, Apple Maps will bring users a new dashboard experience that displays information about upcoming operations. Users can configure the map by clicking the map configuration button in the upper right corner of the Maps home screen., to switch the desired display type between the Home screen and the Dashboard screen".
Transcribe programs and automatically generate transcripts
Apple provides a transcription function for Podcasts, which automatically converts the audio content in podcast programs into transcripts.
The iOS 17.4 podcast app will initially only support the transcription of podcasts in English, French, German and Spanish. Later, the transcription function will be opened to more than 170 countries and regions, including China.
