Renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo released a new report on Wednesday revealing what he knows about the rumored "iPhone 17 Slim" device.Ming-Chi Kuo largely reiterated previous reports in his report, saying the device will have a screen size of 6.6 inches, which is larger than non-Plus iPhones but smaller than Plus models.

In addition, Ming-Chi Kuo also pointed out that the device will have a resolution of 2740x1260 and will still be equipped with a dynamic island function. He also predicted that the device would be equipped with an A19 chip and use a titanium-aluminum alloy frame.

According to reports, the main reason for launching this new model is that Plus-sized iPhones account for less than 10% of annual sales.Wednesday's report said the device isn't specifically designed to replace the iPhone 17 Plus, but is a tweak Apple is making in response to other design and usage trends.

Today, Ming-Chi Kuo said in a short article posted on the social media platformSE, the other is the new iPhone 17 Slim model launched in the third quarter.

All existing iPhones currently sold by Apple are equipped with Qualcomm modems for mobile data connections.Earlier this year, Apple extended its 5G modem supply agreement with Qualcomm for iPhone launches until 2026, so Apple's transition to its own in-house 5G chips will likely happen gradually over many years.

Apple's revised model this time is also a last resort. Not only have the sales of previous generations of Plus been very low, Apple wants to increase sales through revised models. As for Apple’s self-developed 5G chips, which have been under development and delayed, there is still a big question mark as to whether they will really be available in 2025.
