Well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed that Apple plans to cancel the Plus model in its iPhone 17 series and instead launch the innovative iPhone 17 Slim.This new phone will use a titanium alloy frame, although the titanium content is reduced compared to the iPhone 15 Pro series.iPhone 17 Slim will also have a built-in 5G baseband independently developed by Apple, and will be streamlined to a single rear camera design.

A digital blogger shared a rendering of the iPhone 17 Slim, showing its unique design.The front screen continues Apple’s smart island design, and the borders are properly processed.The camera module on the back has changed from a traditional square to a long horizontal strip, similar to the Google Pixel series mobile phones, including a camera and a flash.

Ming-Chi Kuo said that iPhone 17 Slim is not a simple upgrade of the Plus model, but a brand new product focusing on ultra-thin design and industrial innovation.This model will be equipped with a 6.6-inch Smart Island screen with a resolution of 2740×1260 pixels and be equipped with Apple’s latest A19 chip.

In addition, Ming-Chi Kuo also pointed out that the high-end version of the iPhone 17 series will use the A19 Pro chip, both of which are manufactured based on TSMC’s 3nm process.Although TSMC's 2nm process is expected to be put into production by the end of 2025, the iPhone 17 series may not be able to adopt this latest technology.
