Nowadays, the imaging effect of mobile phones is getting better and better, but many people choose cameras to take better photos. There is no other reason. The camera hardware is much better than the mobile phone. The so-called "one level higher than the bottom" kills people, which is a fact that the mobile phone imaging can hardly be changed. Therefore, OPPO plans to take a different approach and develop a Mariana X image chip from the perspective of image algorithm, opening the era of "computational photography".
Mariana X adopts the concept of DSA's new gold architecture. It has a super computing power of up to 18 TOPS, or up to 18 trillion calculations per second, and can run pixel level AI noise reduction models. For example, OPPO Find X5 Pro equipped with Mariana X can complete the shooting of 4K ultra clear night scene video that is difficult to control by other flagship video phones, and can suppress highlights and noise of the screen. It can be said that the existence of the algorithm allows the imaging of the mobile phone to "overtake at corners" and gradually catch up with the effect taken by professional cameras.

In addition to making innovations in the "internal" functions of imaging, OPPO also has its own unique views on the "external" form of mobile phones. OPPO Find N took this problem into consideration at the beginning of its design. The outer screen is 5.49 inches, which is the same size as the iPhone 13 mini. One hand can cover 85% of the screen area, and it can be put into a bag or pocket. In addition, OPPO Find N also has a self-developed precision quasi cone hinge, which can bend the screen into a natural "water drop" shape, greatly reducing creases.

As far as patents are concerned, OPPO has more than 80000 patent applications worldwide and more than 40000 authorized patents worldwide. Among them, the number of invention patent applications exceeded 72000, accounting for 90% of all patent applications. According to the ranking of the number of international patent treaty (PCT) applications in 2021 released by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), OPPO ranks sixth in the world.
